I’ve worked on Aces Studio products since 1997 and was SME/writer on all three versions of Combat Flight Simulator. I’ve also contributed research and writing to the last four versions of Flight Sim. Now it turns out I was preparing for my current role on the Trains team when I collected all those locomotive trading cards as a kid.
Pre FS/TS History:
I got into game writing with Close Combat 1 in 1995 after freelancing for eight years as a tech writer for Microsoft.
Favorite thing to do with Train Sim or Flight Sim:
Operate the historic equipment (pistons & props and steam locomotives); gaze at the scenery from various altitudes.
Random fact about me:
My adolescent hobbies ended up shaping my career. As part of my job I’ve visited many aircraft and train museums, attended airshows from Oshkosh to Wanaka, operated a steam locomotive (for 100 feet or so), and spent a lot of time ferreting fascinating lore out of our national & military archives.
